Brand Spotlight: Getting to Know Absorb Skincare

Absorb Skincare

One of my favorite things about discovering new brands and trying different products is actually getting to know their backstory and getting to know more about the maker! So today I want to introduce you to Absorb Skincare from Austin, Texas. Trust me, you’ll be seeing MUCH more of this brand in the future!

Absorb was generous enough to send me products for review for this blog post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

About Absorb Skincare

Absorb was founded by Kelly Gray, who struggled with skincare issues for many years which ultimately motivated her to become an esthetician. She has always been drawn to holistic skincare practices, and the more she learned about these ingredients, her passion for them grew.

What Absorb stands for:

We believe in the power of plants and the power of amazing skincare products to help your skin look and feel its best. We craft everything in small batches with attention to detail in everything we do. All of the products are made with carefully-sourced ingredients that are either organic or wildcrafted.

And I mean, how beautiful is the packaging? Plus it’s all in glass, not plastic, which is always a win for me. The passion that Kelly puts into the products is incredible; she uses organic plant essential oils, unrefined plant butters, and meticulously selects the highest quality and most ethically-sourced ingredients. Her line is never tested on animals 🐰

Even better, the products are sent in reusable cosmetic bags that are handmade with organic cotton instead of boxes. Absorb supports Freeset, a fair-trade business that offers employment to women who are trapped in the Kolkata sex trade. By giving these women a job, they are no longer subjected to working in the sex trade in India.

Even their product cards are made with 100% organic cotton that comes from the leftover waste fabric from the production of t-shirts. Absorb’s sustainability and eco-friendly efforts are definitely noteworthy! 👍

Some of her products I tried:

THE FACE OIL

First of all, the smell of this face oil is insanely good. It’s so earthy yet delicate. It’s fast-absorbing and has a dry finish, which I like because my skin is pretty dewy and oily. I find that it works really well under sunscreen and makeup, too.

The Face Oil was specifically designed with acne-prone and sensitive skin in mind, but it is great for all skin types. It’s especially moisturizing and high in antioxidants, vitamins, and omegas.

I love this serum so much that it’s included on my list of 8 Organic Facial Serums You’ll Wanna Try ASAP!

What’s in it: *Pomegranate Seed CO2 (Punica granatum), *Prickly Pear Seed Oil (Opuntia ficus-indica L.), *Raspberry Seed CO2 (Rubus idaeus), Maracuja Oil (P.incaranata), Neroli (Citrus aurantium L. var. amara), Helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum), *Rosemary Antioxidant CO2 (Rosmarinus officinalis) [*organic Or wildcrafted]

THE BALM

Probably my favorite product of the bunch! 🙌 This balm is designed to use on your body or face, anywhere that you have dry, irritated, acne, acne scars, eczema, psoriasis, or a compromised skin barrier. It is SO soothing and healing because of the Black Cumin and Tamanu.

It’s definitely a multitasking balm. My husband had a weird rash on his chest, and nothing was helping. We tried this balm on it and it literally went away within days, no joke! And you only need the tiniest little bit, a little goes a long way.

What’s in it: *Shea Butter (Butyrospermum parkii), *Argan oil (Argania spinosa L.), Beeswax (Apis mellifera), *Babassu (Orbignya oleifera), *Tamanu oil (Calophyllum inophyllum), *Black Cumin C02 (Nigella sativa L.), *Sacha Inchi (Plukenetia volubility L.), Vitamin E oil non-GMO (mixed Tocopherol)

THE MIST

This mist is legit! Rose geranium has been called the skin’s best friend and I see why. It’s suitable for all skin types and is an instant pick-me-up for dry skin. I like to use it after I cleanse and before I apply The Face Oil.

It’s also really nice as a makeup setting spray or to use for calming/cooling your skin. And you can’t beat that rosy smell!

What’s in it: 100% Organic Rose Geranium Hydrosol 🌹

Overall, the heart that goes into Absorb’s products and the superior quality is just amazing, I totally recommend this line. Be sure to check out the other products as well. Code ORGANICALLYBECCA saves you 15% at checkout on Absorb’s website. Give them a try!
