Comparing Organic Concealers: Which is Best for Your Skin?

Guide to Natural Concealers

Over the past couple of years, I’ve tried tons of natural, green beauty concealers. Some better than others! And I often get asked about which ones are the best. Well, it depends on your skin and what you’re looking to accomplish! For example, some are better for masking blemishes, and some are meant for brightening dark circles. So let’s dive in and compare some of my top picks, and then you can decide which will work best for YOU!

Au Naturale Color Theory Creme Correctors

Coverage: Light/Medium
Notes: Vegan, Cruelty free

These are a twist-up creme concealer. Rather than typical skin-tones, they use color theory. For example, I use the shade Sweet Basil which is a minty green that neutralizes redness and is good for concealing blemishes. I also like Flax which is a yellow hue that is great for brightening under-eye darkness. They also make skin-toned concealers which are a similar formula and consistency that come in 10 shades. This is a harder creme consistency, which I sometimes need to rub my finger over first. Especially in the colder months, it just needs to melt a bit! Then apply directly to my skin. It is slightly waxy so be sure to use a setting powder over it if you have oily skin!

Shades Available: 14
Coverage: Medium
Notes: Vegan, Cruelty free, Doe foot applicator

This is a lightweight and breathable cream that leans toward a liquid consistency. These are great for brightening dark eye circles or uneven skin tone. They do work for concealing blemishes too, but I prefer these for just using under my eyes or masking redness. I never really notice creasing or caking with these, either. They also have more options for darker skin tones, which is definitely lacking amongst some of the other concealers! I wear shade 03 in summer and 02 in winter.

Erin’s Faces Radiant Firming Concealers (⭐️ My favorite!)

Shades Available: 5
Coverage: Medium/Full
Notes: Silicone free, Vegan, Cruelty free, Doe foot applicator

These come in a nice big glass vial and are my personal fave concealer! It’s breathable, buildable, and has a satin finish. It’s a thick cream and I use it both for concealing breakouts (it actually has ingredients like tamanu oil that will help heal them) and also for under eyes. I mostly use shade Magnolia but Cottonwood also works under my eyes for brightening. Plus it has hyaluronic acid so it’s very hydrating as well 💦 Since it has sort of a silky feel to it, I’d suggest using a setting powder over it if you have oily skin. Pro tip: I even use this as an all-over quick foundation!

FitGlow Conceal+ Concealers (Reader favorite!)

FitGlow Conceal+$42
Shades Available: 15
Coverage: Full
Notes: Cruelty free, Contains organic beeswax, Doe foot applicator

This is the green beauty community’s top concealer (seriously, I polled my readers and it was an outstanding fave!). But, I happen to agree that it’s awesome! It is on the pricey side though. However, it does have added skincare benefits so it helps skin AND conceals. It’s got awesome coverage and this is one of my go-to’s for hiding breakouts. It’s nice for dark circles too. A little goes a long way with this one and it’s pretty easy to blend around with just a small application.

Hynt Duet Perfecting Concealers

Hynt Duet Perfecting Concealers$24
Shades Available: 11
Coverage: Very Full
Notes: Vegan, Cruelty free, Glass jar

This is hands-down the fullest coverage natural concealer I’ve come across. Like, it can cover tattoos! Yet it’s not cakey and still feels lightweight. This one is a go-to for when I want to cover a big blemish (it’s non-comedogenic). But it can basically be used for any type of concealing. It contains jojoba, castor, aloe, and Cupuacu seed butter. This concealer is nice and spreadable, too! I wear shade DC02 Light.

Lily Lolo Pressed Powder Correctors

Shades Available: 2
Coverage: Light
Notes: Vegan, Cruelty free

This one is pretty unique! It’s a pressed powder and I consider it more of a corrector instead of a concealer. It doesn’t provide much coverage, but it uses color theory to help correct. There’s Pistachio which is a green that neutralizes redness, or Lemon Drop which is yellow and helps brighten. So I tend to like this one for dark circles or redness, but not necessarily for covering a raised blemish. Since it’s a powder, I’d recommend this one more for combo or oily skin!

W3ll People Bio-Correct Concealers

W3ll People BioCorrect Concealer$23

Coverage: Light/Medium
Notes: Cruelty free, Contains beeswax

This concealer is a really lightweight liquid that you squeeze out of the tube. It’s pretty runny too, so I suggest shaking it a bit or squeezing the tube around before you open it each time (so everything can mix). But it’s also really hydrating. I don’t find the coverage of this one to be enough for breakouts, but it’s really nice for overall redness, discoloration, or dark circles (it helps depuff too). Plus the squeeze tube application is so quick!

  1. Becca, thank you so much for the concealer comparison. Like you, over the past few years I have tried what I thought was all the non toxic concealers, and I don’t like any of them. I had never heard of Erin’s Faces Radiant Firming Concealer. Since it’s your top choice I ordered it in the color Magnolia. The color is perfect on me. Best news of all, I LOVE THIS CONCEALER. It goes on easily and beautifully. It looks silky and smooth and covers my dark circles. All other concealers look cakey and accentuate my wrinkles. Erin’s Faces Radiant Firming Concealer looks awesome under my eyes. I am so happy to have FINALLY found a concealer in green beauty that works. Thank you thank you thank you!

  2. Hi Becca! To be honest I’m having a hard time what concealers should I use. After reading your article I finally found it out. Thank you so much for taking the time to explain this to us. Well I’m going to pick the Au Naturale Color Theory Creme Correctors and I think it’s perfectly suits to me.
