Where to Buy Natural & Organic Hand Sanitizers (14+ Options!)

Natural Hand Sanitizers

Well, I never thought I’d find myself writing a blog post about hand sanitizers. But funny how things change! Due to current events, you are probably looking to stock up on some. But it is a CHALLENGE, I tell ya! Most of the stores are wiped clean and a lot are just totally out of stock online. I did a deep dive on the internet to find some options for you. And guess what, they are all NATURAL! No funky ingredients here.

Some conventional sanitizers (like Purell) contain ingredients that I try to avoid such as propylene glycol, synthetic fragrance, artificial dyes, and retinyl palmitate. So here are some better options that are still effective.

Before we begin, the CDC recommends at least 60% alcohol be used in the ingredients for a hand sanitizer. So that’s why I list the amounts for each! And obviously, washing with soap and water is best, but sometimes that isn’t always available which is why it’s nice to have a sanitizer on hand! 🧼

Please note: Due to the high demand during the coronavirus pandemic, some of the sanitizers below might be temporarily sold out or out of stock. Keep checking back often because I know some of the formulators and they are working their butts off to make them available to you ASAP! 🤲

14+ Natural Sanitizer Options

100% Pure Hand Sanitizer Spray

62% ethyl alcohol • I want to try this one! It has pretty minimal ingredients and has aloe which should help to keep hands hydrated. And tea tree! Also available from The Detox Market.

Butter Me Up Organics Hand Cleanser

Alcohol-free • If you don’t want to go the alcohol route! This uses organic witch hazel extract, lavender essential oil, aloe vera, and vegetable glycerin. Comes in glass!

CleanWell Hand Sanitizer Spray

Alcohol-free • Another alcohol-free botanical blend. It’s also available on Thrive Market but it looks like they stopped taking orders temporarily.

DoTerra On Guard Sanitizing Mist

64% ethyl alcohol • This is one I currently have and it smells so good (not alcohol-y). If you’ve used the On Guard essential oil blend then you know the smell! You might be able to buy from a DoTerra distributor for cheaper if you know one.

Dr. Brite Hand Sanitizer

Dr. Brite Protect Hand Sanitizer

70% isopropyl alcohol • I use this brand for my dental care so I was excited to see them roll out a sanitizer. They sell bundles too so you can actually stock up and not just get one. And they are huge, 16 ounces! It seems like they are citrusy.

Dr. Bronner’s Organic Hand Sanitizer

62% organic ethyl alcohol • You might be able to find this at places like Whole Foods. Or the link above goes to Target and you can see if your local store has it.

Olika Birdie Hand Sanitizer

65% ethyl alcohol • This is the cute robin’s egg blue one pictured above. What’s unique is this one comes with little wipes on the bottom. And it’s a twist and lock. Pretty chic if you ask me! It smells nice and light with hints of citrus. I love this one!

Also available at Aillea Beauty.

Organic Bath Co. Zesty Morning Hand Sanitizer

63% ethyl alcohol • Naturally scented with organic tangerine, orange, and grapefruit essential oils. Looks like a great option!

Sparitual Hand Sanitizer

75% isopropyl alcohol • Comes in a 4-pack and made with just four ingredients.

DIY Homemade Hand Sanitizer or Find Local Makers

  • There are tons of DIY recipes on Pinterest if you have the supplies, like this recipe from Our Oily House
  • Search on Etsy and you can find a plethora of independent makers that sell their own sanitizers
  • Or ask around some of your favorite local shops, artisans, and makers to see if they make any!

If you know of any others, please share below in the comments and I’ll add them to the list. Stay safe and healthy, my friends! 💚
