Looking for luxe makeup that’s as good for your skin as it is for your conscience? Ogee, a Vermont-based brand, blends certified organic ingredients with high-performance formulas to deliver what they call “Beyond Clean Beauty.” In this review, I’m diving into some of their standout products—sharing what I love, what surprised me, and what didn’t quite hit the mark. Ogee is a makeup and skincare brand based in Burlington, Vermont. It was founded in 2014 with a core mission “to create a luxury, certified organic collection of high-performance, multi-functional products that go Beyond Clean Beauty.” They craft their formulas to nourish skin while also delivering effective results. The name refers to the S-shaped curve of the cheekbone and represents a natural youthfulness.

Ogee uses a mix of materials for their packaging: glass bottles, metal tubes, and mixed plastic cases. Each product comes in a recycled paperboard box. Not everything is fully recyclable, but I believe the company is working towards improving this in the future.

Reviewing Ogee Makeup & Skincare Products
I haven’t tried all of Ogee’s products, but I’ll share my honest thoughts on the ones that I have used!
(I did try some of the skincare a LOOOOONG time ago when Ogee first launched and remember liking them, but will have to try them again because I’m sure formulas are new and improved!)
Sculpted Complexion Stick (Bestseller)
This is one of their most popular products! It’s a foundation stick with buildable, light-to-medium coverage and a second-skin finish—it truly does look like your skin, but better. The finish looks natural, melts into skin nicely without being too greasy, and wears pretty well throughout the day (although I’ve noticed minor settling/creasing in areas like crow’s feet). You can also use it as a concealer or get a darker shade to contour.
I initially tried this years ago and wasn’t a huge fan, but I think Ogee changed the formula (and a lower price!), and it works way better for me now. It used to pull and tug on my skin as I applied it, but the formula seems to be much creamier now, yay!
Also, the trick is ensuring your skin is well-prepped before applying. Foundation sticks, in general, can be finicky because they’re more concentrated. So just load up on a facial oil or primer before applying, and you’ll be good. Essentially, the stick needs a smooth, emollient base to glide onto for the best application and to prevent a crepey look.
Thankfully, Ogee has expanded its shade range since first launching because the closest shade, Linden 1.25, was too yellow for me. Now I wear Birch 0.25N, which is a match!

Sculpted Face Sticks
These are sooooo beautiful! They are blush, bronzer, contour, and highlight sticks, depending on the shade. Some shades are matte with more pigment, others are sheerer with a little shimmer. I like shades Pearl (pearlescent peony shimmer), Pink Diamond (matte neutral pink), and Obsidian (matte deep bronze).
Similar to the Complexion Stick, these might need to warm up on skin for a few seconds before you apply them. Otherwise, they can sort of tug skin or move any existing makeup around. I actually like to apply these as a layer right on top of the Complexion Stick BEFORE blending that in—so you blend it all together at once. Alternatively, I like to apply these onto a makeup brush first and then buff them onto cheeks, which gives you a softer, diffused application!
The twist-up packaging and magnetic cap make it quick and easy, too.
Beyond Clean Volumizing Mascara
This was a pleasant surprise for me and I like it! It has a one-sided tapered brush with soft bristles. It’s really good at lengthening and doesn’t get clumpy on me, and I haven’t experienced any flaking or fallout. You can build it up for more volume. It works decently for separating lashes too.
I sometimes notice some minor smudging on my bottom lashes towards the end of the day, though, and it’s not the most water-resistant. Another downside is that it’s $29, which is a bit pricey for a mascara, but it has 77% organic ingredients and is ophthalmologically tested. It even has ingredients that promote healthier, fuller lashes, such as oat protein peptides and raspberry ketones. I like the mildly fruity aroma!
Wearing Ogee Sculpted Complexion Stick (Birch 0.25N), Sculpted Face Stick (Pink Diamond), and Volumizing MascaraMakeup Brush Cleaner
This little guy is awesome! Just take a wet makeup brush, swirl it around the soap, and it lathers. Makeup brushes get clean with no buildup or residue left behind. The pleasant citrus scent is a plus!
Just make sure you rinse the bar and let it dry before putting the cap back on so it doesn’t get gross.
Ogee’s makeup brushes are great, too, BTW! Especially the Blender Brush for buffing out the foundation and face sticks. They have FSC-certified wooden handles and vegan fibers.
Skin Enhancing SPF40 Primer
A sunscreen and makeup primer combo! It’s hydrating, lightweight, and I love wearing it under makeup because it enhances its longevity and leaves my skin with a slightly dewy, healthy glow. Even though it contains zinc oxide (a mineral SPF), it doesn’t leave a white cast, but I can only speak to my fair skin tone.
It doesn’t contain silicones, so don’t expect an uber-silky feel like conventional primers, but it does apply smoothly and makes a nice base for makeup to grip onto.
It has a botanical aroma that I think is pleasant, but I’ve read reviews from a few people who found it off-putting, so just a heads up!
Complexion Perfecting Concealer
This gets a thumbs up from me! It’s creamy, medium coverage with a skin-like finish and skincare-first ingredients. The doe-foot applicator allows for precision, and the formula blends easily. You don’t need much to get the job done.
It can be used to brighten dark circles (if so, I suggest choosing a lighter shade than your perfect match), but I mostly use it to hide redness and pigmentation; it covers imperfections without looking cakey. Shade Alder works well for me!
Complexion Perfecting Serum Foundation
So, I’m kinda indifferent about this foundation! 🤷♀️ It’s light-to-medium-coverage with a second-skin finish and a thinner, liquid consistency. Ogee says it has a dewy finish, but I’d say it’s more natural, not dewy, and mimics your skin type. I like that it’s infused with skincare ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, Vitamin C, and jojoba oil, so it kind of doubles as a tinted moisturizer (although I wouldn’t use it in place of a moisturizer). It smells similar to the primer!
I don’t have any major complaints about it, and it still looks mostly intact at the end of the day, but I do notice some creasing in fine lines (especially around my eyes). I also recommend applying it over the primer or a facial oil to improve slip. I definitely prefer the Complexion Stick for more of a glow, and there are other liquid foundations I would choose over this one, but it’s not bad.
I tried shade Cedar, which Ogee describes as having pink-biege undertones, however it’s a bit yellow for me. I wish you could get samples!
Tinted Sculpted Lip Oil
I would say this is more of a lip crayon than a lip oil because when I think of a lip oil, I picture something super glossy. This is very nourishing, applies smoothly, and starts out sheer, but you can build it up for a more opaque wash of color. It feels sort of like a lip balm and has a natural finish that isn’t shiny or sticky.
I like shade Rosalia, which is a gorgeous dusty rose. Don’t expect long-lasting, all-day pigment, but you can get a few hours of color! There is a pepperminty smell.
Targeted Blemish Treatment
This is great when I’m breaking out or have congested skin! It contains 0.5% salicylic acid, which helps clear clogged pores. I really like the cool ceramic tip, which makes application easy and soothing.
I usually apply it to a blemish at night, and it’s noticeably improved the next morning. It has a fresh scent that reminds me of a yummy iced tea.
Brightening Botanical Eye Balm
Honestly, I wouldn’t get this one again. Let me start by saying there are some things I enjoy about it:
- Feels moisturizing and goes on nicely
- Made with bakuchiol (a retinol alternative)
- A little goes a long way, so the jar lasts a long time
- Comes with an applicator that feels cooling and soothing
- Has a peachy tint, which can help offset dark circles or purple tones
However, for $98, I expect a lot from an eye cream. And I’m not sure I saw drastic enough results to justify the price. Also, the smell is too floral for me; Ogee claims it’s unscented, but it has a lot of plant extracts and definitely has a smell. Just not my fave!
Final Thoughts About Ogee
Ogee’s commitment to purity sets them apart in a crowded non-toxic beauty market for sure. Yes, their products lean more expensive, but they truly walk the walk with 100% botanically derived, NSF-certified organic formulas that skip the synthetic junk other brands sneak in at similar price points.
Overall, I have enjoyed the majority of the products that I’ve tried, and hope to dabble with more soon!

How do you get more product out? Mine does not have a twisting feature
You should be able to hold the base of the product and twist near the top gold piece.
