The Well Rounded: Becca’s Quarterly Top Picks [Volume 11 • Spring 2024]

Spring has sprung and Volume 11 of the Well Rounded series is here! 🌷 Each quarter I like to give you guys updates on new products I’ve been testing and grabbing over and over again. Whether it’s sustainable fashion, wellness-related, clean beauty, low tox home, or natural skincare. I aim to include a fun variety for the season, so let’s take a look at what’s been #OrganicallyBeccaApproved lately!

This post contains affiliate links. Some of these products were gifted to me for PR consideration with no obligation to share. Trust me, I only share the good stuff with ya!

Btw, if you missed Volume 10 from winter, you can check it out here!

1) Bare Hands Dry Gloss Manicure Kit 💅

I don’t wear much nail polish on my fingers, but I do like having groomed nails that look healthy! If you don’t want to spend money on professional salon manicures, this kit is so handy (pun intended) for DIYing at home. It’s packed in a chic vegan leather case and includes:

  • A polisher (made of glass and minerals) to buff away the top layer of keratin and reveal shiny nails
  • Natural cuticle oil twist-up pen to hydrate and condition
  • Cloth to wipe away dust as you work
  • Angled wooden sticks to push back cuticles

Bare Hands Manicure Kit and Huella Nail Polish

Honestly, I’m always SO shocked at how shiny my nails are after using it! Like seriously, they look 10x healthier, and it gives a nice glow that lasts about a week (depending on the thickness of your nails).

2) Canary Fluoride-Free Toothpaste Tablets 🦷

These are so great! I was leery of toothpaste tablets at first, but I actually really like them. They DO make your mouth feel clean and are a sustainable solution to plastic tubes. Canary’s are fluoride-free and use a safer alternative, hydroxyapatite, to remineralize teeth and protect against cavities. Simply pop 1-2 tabs in your mouth, chew, and brush away.

I use the Peppermint flavor but it also comes in Wintergreen, Strawberry Kiwi, and Watermelon for kids. Bonus: you can get refill pouches and reuse your jar!

3) Clearly Filtered Water Bottle 💧

I already filter my tap water at home, but was interested in an option for traveling, so I bought one of these! It’s a water bottle with a built-in filter that targets 220+ contaminants such as chlorine, fluoride, lead, mercury, herbicides, pesticides, phthalates, VOCs, and pharmaceuticals.

I particularly appreciate that you can purchase just the top and it’s compatible with most wide-mouth stainless steel water bottles (it fits one I already had perfectly). The filter lasts up to 25 gallons or 6 months (whichever comes first). So happy to have this for on-the-go!

4) Cowboy Colostrum Powder 🤠

Colostrum is all the rage these days in the wellness world. I was skeptical at first, but then I tried it, and I really did notice some benefits! If you’re not familiar, it’s the dairy superfood produced by mammals within the first 48-72 hours after giving birth. Don’t worry! This brand always ensures that the calves are fed first and just uses the surplus. It’s then freeze-fried at low temps for maximum bioavailability. Cowboy Colostrum is also grass-fed and sourced from U.S. cows that are never treated with hormones or antibiotics.

Often called “liquid gold,” it’s a natural source of vitamins, minerals, proteins, and enzymes that contribute to immunity, gut health, radiant skin/hair, and athletic performance. I have personally experienced crazy hair and nail growth since taking it, plus I have not gotten sick once (even over the holidays and winter “flu” season!).

You can get this Unflavored or Vanilla. I use Vanilla and have been frothing it in my water in the morning, and it’s EXTRA delicious mixed with heavy cream and topped over cold brew coffee 🤤

5) Truly Free Refillable Laundry Detergent 🧺

I’m always up for trying new natural laundry detergents! I had heard good things about Truly Free’s and gave it a go—it does not disappoint!

Truly Free Laundry Detergent

A couple of reasons why I’m digging it:

  • Choose from Unscented or Signature Scent. Many low tox laundry detergents leave a very faint smell on clothes (or no smell at all) after washing, but this one actually lingers a bit without being overpowering! The smell reminds me of a classic Tide or Downy smell but wayyyyyy less chemical-ly and doesn’t give me a headache.
  • Refillable! Your first order comes with a plastic jug and a refill pouch. You add your own water each time, reuse the jug, and refill as needed.
  • Leaves my clothes soft and fresh
  • Seems to work well with mild stains
  • Ideal for those with sensitive skin!

6) Ilia Soft Foaming Cleanser 🫧

To be honest, I don’t typically like foaming cleansers because they can strip skin and dry it out. But I bought this new Ilia cleanser out of curiosity and really enjoy it! It’s fragrance-free, pH balanced, doesn’t irritate my eyes, and does not make my skin feel tight or stripped!

Ilia Soft Foaming Cleanser

I still prefer oil cleansing for removing heavier makeup, but was surprised at how well this removes makeup too! And the bottle is hugeeeee. Plus, you can get this in a little mini size which would be perfect for traveling.

7) Kitsch Satin Pillowcase 🛌

Did you know that your pillowcase can contribute to frizzy hair and wrinkles?! I’ve been loving Kitsch’s pillowcases! They’re made from OEKO-TEX® Certified satin and come in lots of fun prints and colors. Essentially, satin is smooth and breathable so it’s beneficial for your skin and hair while you sleep because there is less friction. So it can help fight skin creases, bedhead, tangles, and frizz.

It also regulates temperature so your pillow stays cool. I used to wake up with lines on my face after sleeping, but I no longer do with these. Not to mention, the founder is a Wisconsin native, so that’s always a plus in my book!

8) Rahua Heat Protectant Hair Shield 🛡️

Using some sort of heat protectant is CRUCIAL if you use hot styling tools on your hair to prevent breakage and damage! Rahua is a well-known natural hair care line and their heat shield spray is awesome. My favorite part is that it smells like a piña colada!

It’s plant-based and made with ingredients such as African shea butter, Amazonian Rahua oil, and organic hibiscus flower extract which provide thermal protection up to 425°F, strengthen strands, hydrate, and boost shine. I can tell my hair is protected and still looks radiant after using a flat iron or curling iron. You can use it on dry or damp hair!
