Happy new year! Aaaaaaaand we’re back for Volume 6️⃣ of the Well Rounded series. Each quarter I like to give you guys updates on new products I’ve been testing and grabbing over and over again. Whether it’s sustainable fashion, wellness-related, clean beauty, or natural skincare. I aim to include a fun variety for the season, so let’s take a look at what’s been #OrganicallyBeccaApproved lately! ☃️

Btw, if you missed the last Volume 5 from last fall, you can check it out here!
1. Captain Blankenship Refresh Dry Shampoo Spray
You know I am all about that low-maintenance hair care routine and I can’t resist a good dry shampoo. Who has time to wash anyway?! Captain Blankenship recently rebranded and relaunched their dry shampoos in a fun new aluminum bottle with a non-aerosol spray pump. The ingredients are organic and super simple!
The dry shampoo has a floral rose geranium scent. I’m not usually one for rosy smells, but this is pleasant and uplifting. It’s kind of fragrant but doesn’t linger too long. I also like that the sprayer is gentle and doesn’t make too much of a mess when you apply the powder. I like to use it at nighttime so it can absorb excess oil overnight; I really do feel like my hair looks refreshed after using it!
I use the regular formula but they also have one for dark hair with raw cacao powder!

2. Feelgrounds Barefoot Chelsea Boots
For those of you that are interested in following my barefoot shoe journey 🥾 I have seen a couple of barefoot shoe brands that have Chelsea-style boots, but these from Feelgrounds were by far the cutest! I picked up the brown Sienna color, but they also have creamy/white and black.
They’re so comfortable and do not feel too heavy or chunky! They follow barefoot shoe principles and are flexible, have a wide toe box, zero heel drop, and are lightweight. The boots have an elastic ankle so they’re quick to slip on and off, and I also like that they are water-resistant and easy to wipe off.
The only downside is that they ship from Europe so 1) the boots took a while to arrive and 2) it was like $18 to ship. Overall though, I am really happy with them! The style is so adorable for this time of year.
You can read my FULL review of these boots in this blog post!

Note: They do run small, so I would suggest ordering at least a half size up from what you normally wear. Especially if you want to wear thicker socks with them.
3. Grow Plant-Based Air Freshener Sprays
A natural swap for Febreeze sprays! I have been using these so much lately. I think it’s because I’ve been spending more time indoors for winter so I want my house to be cozy and smell extra good. These are lovely!
Grow uses 100% plant-based ingredients, unlike a lot of room sprays which can be petroleum-based. They’re very transparent about their ingredients and you can actually see entire lists for all the sprays (most brands don’t disclose what’s in fragrances!). They also are free from harmful phthalates which are typically used to make smells linger. I have been surprised at how fragrant these are though! You just need one spritz and an entire room will smell amazing. They can also be used on fabrics.
I have the Apple Pomander (fresh apple, orange, cinnamon, clove), Blondewood (vanilla bean, shea butter, teakwood, almond), and Cedar Citrus (blood orange, cedar, vetiver) scents. Love them all!

4. Innersense Bright Balance Hairbath Purple Toning Shampoo
Yay, a natural purple shampoo option for us blondes! (or if you have gray/silver hair) 🙌 I have tried a couple of different purple shampoo brands and I like this one the best! It noticeably makes my hair brighter and helps with brassy/yellow tones. My hair also tends to look darker in the winter since I’m not out in the sun, so this is especially useful to keep it vibrant this time of year.
In addition, the shampoo formula itself is really nice. If you’ve tried the Innersense Pure Harmony Hairbath shampoo, it’s kind of similar. But I think the lather is *slightly* less intense with this purple version and the formula is thicker. But it cleanses my hair well without over-drying or getting too tangly. It smells like jasmine and apple; very pleasant!

5. Jolie Showerhead Filter
If you’re not filtering your shower water yet, get on it! 🚿 Chlorine exposure from a ten-minute shower is equal to or greater than chlorine exposure from drinking 8.5 cups of chlorine-treated tap water a day! (source)
Not only that, but chlorine can actually make your hair dull and affect its color. It can also irritate skin; so if you have conditions like eczema, dryness, rashes, dandruff, psoriasis, itchiness, etc. then filtering your shower water can potentially help.
I stumbled across this brand Jolie that makes CUTE shower heads that have the filter already inside. Most shower filters attach alongside the shower head so they can get clunky. These are much more seamless and aesthetically pleasing! They come in lots of colors and I have the Pebble Grey one. They’re also easy to install.
It uses a KDF-55 and Calcium Sulfite filter to remove chlorine, heavy metals, and contaminants!

6. Perfect Magnesium Citrate Powder
Most adults are deficient in magnesium, but it’s responsible for hundreds of reactions in our bodies! It can help with stress, relaxation, sleep quality, pain, cramps, digestion, and anxiety. I’ve been taking this magnesium powder at nighttime and it’s so helpful for calming me down and better sleep!
Just add a scoop of this powder to water and it dissolves. It’s *mostly* flavorless; there is a very faint metallic taste. But I like that this brand doesn’t use citric acid or synthetics, tests for heavy metals, and uses a bioavailable form of magnesium that’s more easily absorbed by the body!

7. Sun & Moo Tallow Face Creams
Yes, tallow, as in rendered beef fat 😂🐮 I have been hearing so many people singing the praises of tallow for skincare. Although it initially sounded extremely strange to me, you know I had to give it a try!
Tallow is LOADED with nutrients such as Vitamins A, B12, D, E, K, and fatty acids (palmitic, stearic, oleic, alpha-linoleic, and conjugated linoleic [CLA]) that promote skin health. It’s also compatible with our skin’s natural oils. Sun & Moo is a brand I had my eye on for quite some time; they’re made with grass-fed, grass-finished tallow and have a delightful whipped texture.
I’ve been using Sun & Moo’s Simple Thing and Age Reverse tallow balms. Much to my surprise, my skin has been loving them!! They moisturize really well and I thought for sure it would look greasy–but it doesn’t!

8. Tower28 MakeWaves Mascara
There has been LOTS of hype around this mascara (it keeps selling out!) so I had to see what it was all about! 👀 First of all, it’s only $20 which is pretty good for a clean mascara.
It’s a drier formula and can take a while to start building, but wow, it really makes lashes look awesome! I’m a big fan of the flexible, curved silicone wand. It has an inner wave that helps pump up volume and the longer bristles on the back side lengthen and define lashes. You can achieve different looks with each side of the wand!

I’m also impressed by how it actually holds a curl; the curl does fall flat as the day goes on but the initial hold is nice! I do notice some flaking and fallout, but nothing major. This mascara does not smudge for me and holds up really well throughout the day. Overall, it’s a win for me 👏
Stay warm, my friends, and the Well Rounded series will be back in spring for the next volume! ❄️ As always, thanks a bunch for being here and you can pop any questions below in the comments.
